Good evening, diary. Had some interesting battles today, but I did promise to write out what happened with my therapist, so I should probably deal with that first.

Anyway, when the Doc came home it was almost like a clone of myself had walked in from the way Vena had jumped up on him, wrapping herself around his legs with a shout of,"Daddy!" and a giant squeal. Arya wasn't quite as exuberant about his arrival, but she still ran to him for a hug, his arms wrapping around the two of them as he knelt down. Not gonna lie, I haven't seen anything that heartwarming in a long-ass time, though the cherry on top was watching him pick them both up afterwards and dive into their couch, laughing. I felt like I'd walked into one of those ads about the "perfect" Gallentean family or something, but it was still really sweet.

After he'd gotten the kids to settle down, I gave the Doc a hug of my own before we all sat back down. He'd planned on cooking, but I clearly hadn't already spoiled the children enough, so I went and splurged on some delivery for us. Gallentean pasta for me and the Doc, while Arkei settled for some Caldari fast food along with the kids. In a rather macabre moment, I discovered that they'd started making merc action figures, including one Arya showed me that had my favorite dropsuit. It was...cute, I suppose, but still a bit disconcerting to see the girls playing with them.

We ate while we talked. I learned that Doc and Arkei had met when the former had decided to move and the latter had been transferred here to make it easier to commute to work. Turns out they'd both shared a love of those horrible, godawful Gallentean soap operas alongside making fun of Amarrian religious propaganda, though to be perfectly fair I don't know anyone who isn't in the Amarr empire that doesn't like making fun of that crap. Their mutual like (and dislike) of things had turned into more conversation, one discussion turned into two, turned into dates, etc. I told them I was happy for the two of them, particularly because it seemed like the girls were happy as well. I nearly laughed my ass off when Arkei asked if I had a special someone, though. Me? Pff, I'm married to the job for the moment, and even if I wasn't, I don't imagine my knowledge of how to kill someone in ten different ways while unarmed exactly brings the boys running. Well, maybe the other way.

Sadly, my alarm for the shuttle chose to ring not too long afterwards, and after nearly hugging everyone in the place to death, I set off for back home. Doc told me that I was welcome whenever, with Arkei chiming in that Fridays were especially good, as they were pizza nights and they could never finish the damn things. Vena...mainly cried, which probably touched me more than it should've, even if it was annoying as hell. I gave her the last little sweet I had before kissing her on the tear-stained cheek and promising her I'd come back, so long as she didn't call me Aunt Rinas again. Even Arya gave a little wave, and the frown on that tiny  face was almost as powerful as the irritation caused by Vena's crying. One more quick round of hugging and then I was gone. The trip back home almost felt deafeningly quiet by comparison, and my apartment even more so. With not much else to do, I took a shower before crawling into bed.

Which brings me to today. Arkei apparently wasn't lying, as receipt emailed to my inbox after I woke showed that all my weaponry had been replaced with better quality crap at no extra price. One battle later and I could mostly confirm it; The specs weren't what they were before the software update but my laser rifle felt mildly more powerful than a laser pen now, though it still took way too fucking many shots with a sniper rifle to bring down regular infantry. Got to fly around in a dropship for the first time since the update as well, and I can confirm that the feeling of raining death from above still hasn't diminished, even if the actual effects of it has. At any rate, that was all for today, time for a shower and sleep.
