Fall down seven times, get up eight or some bullshit like that. The world doesn't just stop because I went and had a crazy moment, and my ISK isn't going to increase by sitting around and moping. Mainly, though, I just need something to do.

That's how I found myself back on the battlefield yesterday, as though I hadn't collapsed into a pathetic ball of misery just a couple days earlier. It was nice to get back down to a planet's surface, even if I only saw it through my helmets. Battling went much the same as usual, with my triumphs casting me as the odd-woman-out against the miserable failures that comprised the other people who had taken the contracts, though there was one Skirmish contract in which I found myself having to actively work to stay on par with the awesomeness of my teammates. It's battles like that, that remind me how far I still have to go as a merc.

A few contacts have informed me that some big changes are coming down the line. More proactive mercs than me have lobbying to allow our corps to own various facilities and plants, much like the assholes spaceside. I'll admit to being curious about how that'll affect the corp, but for now I'm pretty happy just doing what I do best; Shooting and exploding things. Speaking of which, a contact showed me a video of some of the new weaponry that cleared safety testing. Can't speak about their specs yet, but I get the feeling I'll be hard pressed to find a situation where a pistol that shoots explosive rounds -won't- be helpful.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I finally went whole hog and bought a coffee machine! I don't think I've treasured a piece of tech so highly since I scavenged some Duoville ARs after a battle. It's got all sorts of settings, and knobs, and can even be synced to my alarm clock so it'll make coffee right when I wake up! I don't think I've made such an awesome purchase since my first shipment of sniper rifles, hee.
